Government funding
Half your website, funded by the LEO voucher
The Local Enterprise Office Trading Online Voucher co-funds 50% of a website or online shop project — up to €2,500 — for eligible Irish small businesses. It was made for exactly this, and we help with the application from start to finish.
Who qualifies
The voucher is aimed at small businesses taking their first serious steps online — or upgrading what they have. The core criteria are:
- Fewer than 10 employees
- Annual turnover under €2 million
- Trading for at least 6 months
- Based in the local LEO's catchment area
Important: vouchers cannot be claimed retrospectively. LEO approval must be in place before the website work begins — so start the application before the project, not after.
How it works
Check eligibility & get a quote
We talk through your project, confirm the eligibility criteria against your business, and prepare the written quote your application needs.
Attend the LEO seminar & apply
You attend the short (free, usually online) LEO information seminar and submit the application with our quote attached. We help with the form.
Approval, then we build
Once LEO approves the voucher, the project starts. We build and launch your website exactly as quoted.
Drawdown the funding
After launch you submit the paid invoices to LEO and receive the 50% co-funding back. We supply all the documentation you need.
Voucher questions, answered
How much is the Trading Online Voucher worth?
The voucher co-funds 50% of eligible project costs up to a maximum of €2,500. For example, on a €5,000 online shop project, LEO would cover €2,500. Businesses that previously claimed a voucher may be eligible for a second one for upgrade work.
Is my business eligible?
The headline criteria: fewer than 10 employees, annual turnover under €2 million, trading for at least 6 months, and based in the area covered by the Local Enterprise Office you apply to. Your local LEO makes the final decision — we'll help you check before you apply.
Do I have to attend a seminar?
Yes — a representative of your business must attend a short Trading Online information seminar run by your Local Enterprise Office, usually held online and free of charge. It's a straightforward requirement and we'll point you to the right session.
Can I apply after the website work has started?
No — this catches people out. Vouchers cannot be claimed retrospectively, so LEO approval must be in place before the project begins. Talk to us early and we'll sequence the quote, application, and build correctly.
What can the voucher pay for?
Website development, e-commerce functionality, booking systems, digital marketing connected to the project, and related costs like photography for the site. Ongoing subscriptions are generally not covered. Your LEO confirms exact eligible costs when approving the application.
Scheme terms are set by the Local Enterprise Offices and can change — your local LEO makes the final call on eligibility and eligible costs. We'll help you confirm the current terms before you commit to anything.
Don't leave €2,500 on the table
Tell us about your project and we'll confirm your eligibility, prepare the quote for your application, and guide you through the paperwork.
